About.

Talaya. uses space and time as a three-dimensional canvas, painting depth into her music with powerful instrumentation, lyrics, and a keen ear for music creation. She grew up dancing, being been featured in numerous productions at venues like The Moore, The Paramount, and The Kennedy Center in Washington DC as early as 13 years old as a Rhythm Tap Dancer. As a testament to her quickly developing artistry with Youtube as her teacher, in May of 2019 she released a five-track self-created EP titled “The Space Between” followed by her debut LP “Existential Soul” (August 2021).  And her Sophomore LP “c l e a r.” In June of 2024 .She is currently a full time Recording Engineer, Vocal Producer, Performing Artist, Songwriter, Executive Producer, Artist Consultant, and Choir Director creating out of Ruby Room Recordings in Georgetown. She has a vast  background in Gospel and RnB opening for eclectic acts like Blk Odyssey (Barboza), Rexx Life Raj (The Crocodile), and Grammy and Oscar Award winning Braxton Cook (Madame Lou’s), Keke Wyatt, S.O.S Band with Maze and Janelle Monaé. Singing with community choirs like Danell Daymon and Greater Works, to singing background for Gospel giants like Fred Hammond, Kelontae Gavin, Crystal Aikin, Saeed Renaud, Todd Dulaney, and frequently collaborating with Grammy Award-Winning producer and artist Pat Junior. Talaya has also had multiple headlining shows at venues across the PNW like The Royal Room, Clockout Lounge, Hotel Crocodile, Cafe Racer, Madame Lou’s and Kam Chancelor/Richard Sherman’s Legion Lounge in addition to Capitol Hill Block Party for a packed out Barboza in 2023. She is now a Recording Academy Voting Member for the Grammy Awards, as well as a Jammcard member. She supports local and international artists alike with her unique blend of Gospel, Soul, RnB and technical prowess.
